Fiber Optic Cable Manufacturing Process: A Detailed Overview

The coated fibers are then grouped and encased in protective jackets. The arrangement of fibers within the cable can vary, with configurations such as tight buffer or loose tube depending on whether the cable is intended for indoor or outdoor use.

5. Testing and Inspection

Before the cables are deployed, they undergo rigorous testing to ensure they meet required standards. This includes mechanical tests for tensile strength, optical tests for attenuation, and geometric tests for diameter consistency.
